The New Castle (PA) A-Team, a new idea for new times.
The A-Team is envisioned as an agile group of leaders and volunteers who can respond quickly to community needs and opportunities. In this environment, leaders can lead and practice their leadership skills, followers can follow and learn new skills, and future employers will have an opportunity to teach life skills in real-life settings. Simultaneously, trainers from local companies and/or business owners can observe a habit of industriousness vs a habit of laziness, an inclination towards learning new skills and problem-solving vs non-learning and a waste of time and resources.
Connections important for our community’s future will be made face to face, shoulder to shoulder.
Goals: To empower and motivate A-Team and E-Team members to accomplish significant projects to benefit the City of New Castle AND surrounding communities.
Win-win: Unlike the rule books of nonprofit organizations and ordinances of the city and municipalities, for-profit organizations will not be excluded from a gain (monetary or otherwise) so long as the community’s benefit outweighs any personal or corporate gain by a wide margin.
A-Team membership: Membership is 100% opt-in and survives lapses of activity. The #1 expectation is that members will follow A-Team leaders who have been educated on leadership principles, volunteer safety, A-Team Rules and Regulations, and are willing to serve as leaders.
A-Team leaders: A-team members who have demonstrated verbally and through previous experience that they are ready, willing, and able to accept leadership roles within the organization for the benefit of the organization and our community.
The E-Team: Members of the community who have been identified as credible resources for A-Team leaders to turn to for advice, connections, and resources important to completing projects in a responsible manner while keeping the good of the community in the forefront of goals and expectations.
